Popping a tire from all the BS in the berm, or wiping out on all the sand and dirt and junk that accumulates there. It's definitely not somewhere you want to ride, especially at speed.

Stay OFF all road berms.
They are a good place to go in you have a real emergency, and you have to get off the bike, but otherwise they are places that are very likely to have hidden dangers that could destroy your tires, your suspension, or toss you off the bike.
