Why weren't they more outraged by Sandy Burglar taking classified National Security documents?

And only got a slap on the wrist for it?

I'll never figure that one out. I mean it was a major crime and like a lot of what Clinton did it ended up the same. The only thing I can think is the fear factor of crossing him.

Wait a second liberals, I thought lying under oath was no big deal. If lying under oath is no big deal then why bash on Bush if all you think he is doing is lying and not even committing perjury.

Thank goodness the ultra left wingers didn't have any control or say during that last couple hundred years as our country was being formed or else it would be Mexico that all americans would be crossing the borders to get to. Anyone on here that doesn't think that every single president from Washington on didn't keep a few things extra secrective and didn't maybe outright lie, but stonewall a bit, is terribly naive.

Presidents are allowed a certain degree of secrecy and will probably be called liars if not revealing certain truths in their opinion is more important for the sake of this country or their vision for it. The american public really isnt ever going to know everything because if we know everything then so does every other country on this planet.

So before you call Bush a liar for not answering to either very trivial and stupid accusations or for keeping quiet on matters which might indeed be those of national security maybe the question should be how much is the american public entitled to know. If you say everything then thank goodness you are not in charge of our security.

the difference is that I, as a Liberal, think he was wrong and you as a Conservative don't think the current people are wrong...in a similar situation...you are extremely partisan. and by the way Berger went to court and was found guilty..

Berger eventually pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of unauthorized removal and retention of classified material on April 1, 2005. Under a plea agreement, U.S. attorneys recommended a fine of $10,000 and a loss of security clearance for three years. However, on September 8, U.S. Magistrate Judge Deborah Robinson increased the fine to $50,000 at Berger's sentencing. Robinson stated, "The court finds the fine [recommended by government prosecutors] is inadequate because it doesn't reflect the seriousness of the offense."[14] Berger was also ordered to serve two years of probation and to perform 100 hours of community service.[15]

So, if it is found that a crime was commited by Rove or Gonzales, would you support them being punished as I support Berger being punished...I think probably not

Obstruction of justice and destroying evidence is wrong whether done by Berger, Gonzalez, Rosemary Woods, Ollie North or anyone else.

You GOPers cannot justify this at all. You just try to find some excuse for Gonzalez's criminal behavior. Pathetic.

And why hasn't the Administration gone after Berger? You run the Justice Department. If there is a crime, go for it or stop your damn whining.

I basically agree with you, but the problem with the Bush administration is not a single incident. It is the fact that in almost every situation, the White House seems to do what it wants with total disregard for the truth and the will of the America public.

To Bark, I would consider myself a liberal. I agree that Sandy got off easy (too easy), but that injustice does not give the White House carte blanche to trample the truth basically whenever they open their mouths.

Oh classified documents eh?

I dont think so. He did not take or destroy any original documents. Nor were they necessary to an ongoing investigation.

Liberals and Conservatives all need help. Especially the ones who constantly post here.

However, the conservatives need to take responsibility for those lost emails. We're not talking about Burglar here so please stop trying to take the focus off this issue.

It seems very convenient for Republicans and conservatives to have lost them.

Part of his plea deal was to take a polygraph, which he hasn't done yet. The Justice Dept. states they will never know what he took.

Obviously in America we don't hold people accountable if they are in our political party...as you just proved.
