What's the number to call on your phone to update your coverage area?

*228 then listen for the recording and pick option 2. You'll have to be in a Verizon Wireless digital coverage area (your phone will say Verizon Wireless across the banner or you won't see any triangle in between the battery and signal strength) and you'll see 1x or EV or D. I do it every month while I'm paying my bill as a reminder. You also want to do it before you take your phone on any long trips.

For Verizon Wireless customers, you should dial *228 and select option 2 on your cell phone to update the latest network coverage. It is recommended that you do this every 3 months.
