when i say punk covers, i don't mean the cover of a punk band's CD album. this is what a punk cover is..

punk cover: a previously recorded song that is easily recognized and re-done, with a new beat but the same words of the original song, by a band.

I can think of several:
The Door's "Soul Kitchen" by X
Bob Marley's "Johnny Was" by Stiff Little Fingers
Bunny Wailer's "Roots, Radical, Rockers & Reggae" by Stiff Little Fingers (rearainged)
Bob Seager's "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" by Apple (somewhat obscure)
Berry Gordy, Jr.'s "Do You Love Me?" by Johnny Thunder's and the Heartbreakers
Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" labeled "One of These Days" by Operation Ivy
Arrowsmith's "Sweet Emotion" by the Mighty Mighty Bostones
Buddy Holly's "I Faught the Law" by the Clash also a slightly different version by the Dead Kennedys
Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire" by Social Distortion
"Amazing Grace" by Dropkick Murphys (instrumental)
Thats all I can think of without a lot of research except for a couple of X-mas somgs.

the queers, screeching weasel, the vindictives, and the mr. t experience all covered entire ramone's albums back in the 90's. other than that
The queers - Don't back down (the beach boys)
Lars Fredriksen and the bastards - to have and to have not (billy bragg)
fear - We gotta get outta this place (the animals)
Anti-heros - Rock and Roll ****** (patti smith)
but like somebody already said Me first and the gimme gimmes. i could go on all day if you wanted punk covers of other punk songs.

there's a lot of good punk covers, a few:

Joey Ramone - What a Wonderful World (Neil Armstrong's cover)
Ladwagon - Kids in America (Kim Wilde's cover)
No Use For A Name - Turning Japanese (Vapors's cover)
