Well, I tried rubbing my pleasantly plump hubby's belly before I went to the casino, and I didn't win. So I would have to think this wasn't true.

Then again, I am not Buddhist, so maybe that is why it didn't work for me. ??? Hmmm.

To rub a buddha's belly, it meant to offer you luck, and give you life of happiness & laughter.

Try rubbing the buddha's belly and see what happens after a few days, week, weekend?? You don't have to be a buddhist to do this. Anyone can rub the buddha's belly. Google it for more information if you like to get deeper..

Happiness always after 'rubbing buddha's belly'...

Only a happy Buddha. I don't know where the tradition started, but it's world wide. I've seen a turbaned Sikh rub a happy Buddha belly. It's also supposed to be good for fertility and virility.

I think that in that time your weight showed people how well off you were. so if you were fat it showed that you got enough food and had enough money to afford it. so rubbing his belly someway says that you will be well off in life.
