I cant sleep in the dark and in silence either. I put my TV on and usually watch it until I think I should probably go to sleep then I put it on sleep ((if not the tv... i put a cd in and keep it on whole cd repeat)). I also put on my fish aquarium light and it doesnt even have fish in it. I have to make sure my curtains are completely shut... no little peek holes [ even though i'm on the second floor ]. I usually like to go to bed before my dad does so I know theres someone downstairs. I always take my cat with me because hes basically the reason why I sleep in my room... I wasnt allowed to have him if I wouldnt sleep in my room and I sleep with a comforter, even in the summer. and I put the comforter over my head but leave a breatheing hole. yess... i'm very weird.

On nights when I have trouble sleeping, I sometimes need to sleep on the couch with a Star Wars DVD playing on the TV.

I have to have the fan on too, and even in the summertime, with the AC on, I still have to have my ceiling fan on, always. I turn my pillow longways and sleep on it with it mostly under my upper and lower body. I have to sleep with a little bit of the cover covering my ears.

I'm the opposite. I need COMPLETE silence. Until I had children, I actually wore earplugs to bed, because I couldn't sleep with any noise at all. After I had children, I had to stop wearing earplugs in case they need me at night, and it was hell trying to adjust to sleeping without them.
I also need TOTAL darkness.
My husband jokes that he's going to buy me a sensory-deprivation tank for my birthday. lol.

I use to have to do that to, I use to have my fan running 24/7. But now I have to have my door closed, and have complete darkness.
