It was on the movie "My Girl 2" when the little girl went looking for her mom, she found out her mom was a singer, and they played that song and it sounded so pretty!

Smile

First recorded by Nat King Cole in 1955
Later recorded by Natalie Cole in the 1991 album,
Unforgettable With Love
Lyrics by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons
Music written by Charlie Chaplin for his 1936 silent movie classic, Modern Times

Smile though your heart is aching;
Smile even though it's breaking.
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by.
If you smile through your fear and sorrow,
Smile and maybe tomorrow,
You'll see the sun come shining through for you.

Light up your face with gladness,
Hide every trace of sadness.
Although a tear may be ever so near,
That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile,
If you just smile.

That's the time you must keep on trying,
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

There was a song named "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin, written by him for his movie "Modern Times" (excellent film).

Don't watch Idol, so I'm not sure if that's what you mean.

Charlie Chaplin. It's a shame Gina is gone.
