Go to a spray on booth. It smells bad but the results are great. Or, you can even call your local beauty school. A lot of them need people for the new beauticians to practice on. They will airbrush you to a golden color that will last for days. Normally it's free.

I say, sunbathe with sun screen for an amount of time, depending on your skin tone. (At the most 15 minutes on each side). I think that a golden tan looks good and healthy, but you can get be too tan.. Be careful to always wear spf to avoid sun damage, cover your face for the most part and chest. Be aware of the risks of too much sun exposure (cancer!). If you have any history of skin cancer in your family, go for a fake tan like Mystic or Jergens sunless tanning lotion. Never tan in a booth as they are the worst for you and they look so fake. I read that half an hour in a tanning booth is as bad as 8 hours at the beach!
