The rev. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton seem to have forgotten about the priciple of forgiveness. He is sorry, he apologized over and over again, and yet they still won't be satisfied, it seems. "Vengeance is mine, saith the Lord." Whatever happened to that?

They are only looking for attention for themselves, they really could care less about his apologies. They are two of the biggest hypocrites I have ever seen. Had that been a black man saying those things about white women nothing would have ever been said about it.

An Open Email To Don Imus since I dont now know how to get hold of him.

Dear Mr. Imus

My name is Jeff and I am a born again spirit filled on fire for Jesus Black American Christian. I must also say, I rarely if ever listen
to your program.

In any event, I was more than a little taken aback by your producers lead
in, and your follow through, of comments about the Ladies of the Rutgers
Championship Basketball Team.

As a father of the cutest little girl in the world, it hurts me to
hear any man, speak disparagingly of women. I don't
know if you have a daughter, or daughters, but if you do, or don't,
just imagine what you would feel like if someone degraded one of your girls in
that way. I'm guessing it would hurt pretty badly, and make you feel pretty mad.

I'm glad you apologized for what you said, and I hope you will share a
genuine private apology with The Lady Scarlet Knights. If you are truly a
believer, than that's all you really need to do. I am certain that if there are true believers on that team, as I believe there are, that you can find some true forgiveness and know some true peace there.
If it means anything to you, I forgive you, any Christian who understands the word ( Rev. Al Sharpton, and Rev. Jesse Jackson especially) would have to.

I'm sorry you got fired, but I'm sure it wasn't the first time, and it
probably wont be the last. Just remember Jesus will never leave you or forsake you, that all have sinned and fallen short of
the Glory of God, and if we confess our sins He is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins and cleanse us of all unrighteousness. It probably wont
get your job back, but it will give you peace of mind, and there are other
jobs. God Bless you Agape Jeff.

PS If any one knows Mr. Imus' email I would appreciate it if you would pass this along.

I think this whole thing is ridiculous!!!!!

He definitely said something he should not have - these girls did nothing to deserve it!!!!!

However, what kind of message is really being sent?

I teach my child if she does something wrong she needs to apologize. She also has to do whatever is necessary to rectify the problem. I also teach her that I still love her and support even after she made the mistake. I will not turn my back on her.

He made a mistake and apologized!!!! He needs to make it right with those girls and those girls only. He needs to make a public apology - which he did. He received a punishment - two week suspension. But he is still being attacked.

What incentive would it give my child to apologize if I continued to harass her after her punishment was given?

I am getting really tired of the double standards in this country!!!!!!

Stop crying!!!!

If Al Sharpton and all those people who were protesting wanted to really change things, why don't they go to the "ghetto" and mentor a child or read a book to them??????

What we should do is threaten to boycott the sponsers if he is in fact fired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We should protest!!!!!!!!!!

I am getting fired up now - i have got to go!!!

I would love to see how Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. would react to the actions of Sharpton and Jackson!!!!!

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton (as well as many others like them) are nothing more than self serving hipocrits. They use the "Rev." initials and title to lead those too ignorant to call them on it.
The comments were wrong and Imus should be held accountable but so should each individual.
I think you bring up a very valid and real point. It's all just too ridiculous.
The ignorant with the loudest mouths are the ones who get the air time...
That's how ignorant our society is as a whole.

I side with you on this one....

very good question. When you think of it this way..it is very sad to think they will not forgive him, and yet they have such a large following..or so the media would have us to believe.
Some will want to say Imus got hiumself fired..but we all know it was sharpton. Had he not attached to this "issue"..it would have never been an "issue".
A large amount of poeple lost their jobs today due to sharpton and gang. At least 3 childrens charities will go without the millions brought in by Imus and his crew due to Sharpton.
One would have to wonder..if Sharpton had to pay the 1.4million a year to keep the charities going, would he have taken on this "issue"?
I doubt it!

I'll add some more on top of that. Shouldn't Al Sharpton apologize to the Duke Lacrosse players he condemned for actions they clearly didn't commit? Or is he above being wrong since he is black and they are white? Am I the only one who thinks he is a bigger racist than Imus could ever be?

Imus asked Sharpton the same thing during the Matt Lauer interview. Sharpton said that when he visits criminals in prison that he forgives them but they still have to do the time. I thought that was ridiculous that he was comparing Imus' remarks to murder, rape and theft, but there's your explaination.

I watched that interview online. If I find the link to it, I'll add it to this answer.

If they started accepting apologies, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton would soon find themselves in the unemployment line.

Nope. They won't forgive. They seem to be missing the entire 'ho' portion of this. AS a woman of any race....that should be offensive. I think Imus was an idiot for saying something so stupid, but he apologized and i can move past it. Why can't the good reverends?
