ok everytime someone brings up something about physical beauty some one ALWAYS has to say "its what's on the inside that counts" er w/e...and its just like come one now if that were really true then no woman would buy makeup or die their hair or wear cute clothes they'd just be like dgaf u kno??? n it annoys the hell outta me when ppl say "o looks arent important" n they go n call someone ugly!! plus wouldnt u rather be extremely beautiful then "average"?? u kno how much advantage u hav from ur looks?? especially when u can use it 2 get stuff (not sayin its right but hey lol) n when ur bfs friends r all jealous cause ur so hot n stuff n all ur family members r proud 2 show off their pics of u 2 friendsn ppl. n when u can walk in jus the STORE n guys r checkin u out hittin on u evrywhere. o yea n u can get pretty much any guy u want its awesome! so whats the deal with evryone saying looks r overrated or unimportant?? u know they're not!

I think it's because there are so many not-so-attractive people in the world (average, ugly, etc.), that they need to tell themselves looks don't matter just to be able to get up and look themselves in the mirror each day. They know they aren't treated as well as someone who's attractive, so they have to pretend that it's not going on just to get by. They seem to be in some sort of perpetual state of denial.
And when someone asks a pretty person how they look and the person doing the asking is ugly, the pretty person knows how important looks are, and so may feel guilty for telling the ugly person the truth. They would be afraid that it would shatter that person, because they also know looks are everything and don't want to take the ugly person out of thier pretend world where looks don't matter.

Looks are everything. I'm definetly not the prettiest girl and im jealous of every girl that walks by. But the real reason im all obsessed about my looks is because i have BDD on appearance. I cant go out in public without making myself look better. I also used to ahve bulimia and anorexia. tahts how crazy i am.....and i just noticed now....

I think people say 'looks aren't important' because they want to be a good person, and they want to seem like a good person.
