That wasnt a racist comment the real racists are those al sharpton and jesser jackson who call themselves reverands.ya convincing MSNBC and CBS to fire Imus and probably the entire crew.Wow what rolemodels. They just dont like white people. When blacks are harrased they protest, when whites are harrased they dont do anything. They try and play "god"

No. What Imus said was wrong and he apologized. If Imus was black, he would not have been asked to apologize, nor would anyone have cared. Suspension was fine, but firing him is absolutely ridiculous. I wish people would speak out against real issues instead of people like Sharpton and Jackson using their "power" for publicity and the advancement of racism.

>>No, I think firing him was a bit extreme. I think what he said was WRONG and that he should have to pay in some way, but being fired is too much. I have never watched or listened to the man so I have no strong feelings about him personally, just what is going on with him.

I also agree with what everyone is saying about him being white. Rappers, black comedians, and I suspect other black public figures say derogatory things about whites. If he was fired, every last one of them should be fired too.

no..and it appears that around 76% of the world agree that he should not have been fired.. Just looking over some online polls, that is the numbers.
Just shows how out-of-touch CBS and NBC is with mainstream america. They want to dictate how we think instead of actually listening to what we think.
Sorry anti-Imus people..you are truely in the minority, and it has little-to nothing to do with the color of your skin.

Here is one of the polls: http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/polling?event_id=2880

NO! And I'm tired of everyone continuing especially msnbc of getting ratings by running this story over and over..That station he was on was a low ratings station and they got rid of him because of the sponsers (MONEY) gave him up then they dropped him now there acting like they did it out of respect its all a bunch of lies who was that much of a victim I'm a woman my mother taught me sticks and stones will break your bones but NAMES will never hurt you and I'm no big fan of IMUS

NO, I think he is a complete idiot and I always have, that is why I don't listen him. It used to be called free speech. I guess now it depends who you offend. I thought our soldiers fought four our freedoms but I guess it was a waste of time. Every time I see MTV or BET I am offended. Every time I see a black comedian make fun of white people I am offended. That is why I choose not to watch or listen to that stuff. But it is still our right as Americans to say it.

No, I don't watch or listen to his shows, but until yesterday, I had no idea what he said that was so 'offensive". I think the whole thing was blown out of proportion.

He deserved to be fired, racist comments should not be accepted today, america is a free country and freedom of speech but also respecting the rights of others and not insulting them is a big part of this country as well. Imus shouldn't have made fun of the basketball team, THEY ARE #1 in the COUNTRY. WTF is he doing calling them nappy-headed hoes if they could kick his ***!?!

NO! He was fired for doing his "job", crapping at people or whatever he does best. Would you want to be fired for doing your job?

Not happy. I think he apologized and was ready to make it right. People who are calling for getting "white people" off of the radio are just as racist, just as biased, and why aren't we trying to fire all of them?
