I am making it out of a large antique armoire. It's going to be really cool! I took the doors off and I am replacing them with sliding glass doors. My question is, to line the inside 3 walls, I don't want them to be wood.... What would be a good thing to use that is waterproof on the inside. I have thought about slate - he could climb on it. I've also thought about melamine. What do you guys think?

If you could fill in the cracks of each corner with silicone, you could use slate. The easiest, in my opinion, would be plexiglass. It's easy to clean and waterproofing would be also easy. You can put the slate over that for looks and climb-ability, as well as being able to remove the slate and clean outside the cage. I've never tried it out of an armoire, that sounds really cool!

I would use rock, so he could get a toe-hold and rest.
