I was a member of USAC back when CART was started, and was never a big fan of CART. Any series that all the car owners have a vote in running is in for problems. Believe me I know. USAC had its problems but all in all did a fairley good job.

That said, I think the ideal sanctioning body would be ran by a group of people without a vested intrest in the race but in how the racing is governed. No current car owners, drivers, etc involved.

As for the type of car used, the ideal would be a set of rules that would harken back to the days of building your own. The engine formula would allow any number of power plants, both turbo and non turbo.

Sadley in todays climate something like this will never happen. But a old guy like me can dream.

I think Kalkhoven (sp?) does a decent job, and if it's one series, it should definitely be the Panoz DP01 chassis. The IRL Dallara chassis is very outdated.

Keep it as the IRL and dissolve Champ. I dont care about what car they run, they could run Falcons for all I care as long as they are merged.

if they combine all team owners involved would need to elect a series commissioner, his job would be to get all ground work done (research, and proposals) all final decisions would be voted on by the owners, including which chaises to use and which venues to keep drop or add
