Im sure there are many exceptions, but when I watch swimming on TV and watch my girls highschool swim team, why are all of them beastly or just plain ugly. Like Amanda Beard is an exception but there are not that many that i know of.

I have a feeling the hot girls are just avoiding you... Just kidding. Just because YOU don't think a woman is attractive doesn't mean she isn't to someone else. Expand your horizons and stop being so stereotypical and narrow-minded. If you don't like the girls on the swim team than go look for girls who are more your "type"...
My swimmers are mostly beautiful young ladies and always get looks from the boys. Sadly they are all out of your league because they are open-minded and friendly.

Well, all I can say is that you are seeing these girls with no makeup on, their hair is not done, in a swim cap that makes everyone's heads look like colored eggs - stuff like that. I'm sure you could say the same thing if you watched a girls basketball game or soccer match (sweaty, no makeup, hair in a ponytail, etc). Female swimmers bodies tend to accumulate more muscle than other athletes - their shoulders are more broad, legs are very powerful, etc.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I don't think Amanda Beard is very pretty. Laure Manadou and Franziska Van Almsick are very beautiful swimmers (the spelling could be a little off). I think they both may swim (have swum) for Germany???
Or... your swim team could just be a group of ugly girls.

Maybe all the girls in your high school are ugly...I'm totally just kidding! Some swim girls may not appeal to you is because if they play water polo, they do get a little beastly looking. Girls who swim can get really buff and they also get wide shoulders because they're so strong so I guess they can look a little intimidating. Trust me, I've been swimming all my life and I don't think any of my team mates are ugly. I'm not a lesbian so I don't really know if they're hot, but trust me, none of them are truly ugly.
Or maybe it's because when you see them they're wearing caps. One of my guy friends once told me that even the prettiest girl in the world can look ugly in a cap because, "..they look like they're wearing condoms on their heads..."

There's some exceptions - the women's 2004 U.S. Olympic Swim Team. Gorgeous ladies.
It's hard to be all pretty and cute when you can't wear make-up or jewelry most of the time, and your hair gets dry and frizzled, and some women (not that this is a bad thing) lose a lot of their curves.
Try looking past the exterior window dressing of people. You could land the hottest swimmer chick in the world but if she's a lousy person and treats you like garbage her looks are of no value.
