I've heard that before, from Women, who said that they've had lesbian experiences and that it was not that big of a deal. I think that the reason men aren't more experimental is that society has stigmatized Homosexuality to the point that it's still the worst put down a straight guy can say to another straight guy

No, I simply feel this is a reflection of popular culture and the stereotypical male fixation on lesbian and bisexual women. As a college student, I know straight women who will kiss another girl to get attention from the surrounding males.

I do not think that most sexual preferences are fluid, or at least not to the degree that this columnist suggests. But there does seem to be more opposition to homosexuality on the male side of the debate. I am not sure why this is the case.

Sexual experimentation itself could be fluid, as men and women are willing to try new things, but I do not think that intrinsic orientation is changeable.

i might choose to preface this by using asserting that somethings are immoral and unlawful, some issues are only unlawful and not immoral, and somethings are immoral yet thoroughly criminal. this occasion falls into the latter and could probable stay there. i don't think of that there is a widespread age the place a guy/woman will become mature. i've got seen 19 year olds that could desire to not be relied on with something, much less intercourse, and that i've got additionally seen 19 year olds on watch on military vessels, in can charge of the risk-free practices of 1000's. so it varies. there's a definite style of guy or woman who preys upon the vulnerable and youthful, the two woman and male. this style of guy or woman is controlling, narcissistic, offended, and regularly mentally risky. so which you have gotten a difficulty the place a 35 year old starts off to this ingredient a 18 year old with the sparkling motive to administration and dominate. the 35 year old makes use of their age and awareness to manage the 18 year old, to maintain the youngster in a perpetual state of worry and uncertainty. it is maximum relatively immoral, even with the undeniable fact that not unlawful. then you've a difficulty the place a 35 year old beings to this ingredient a very mature 19 year old. the older guy or woman and the extra youthful guy or woman are equals in each and every experience- they rejoice with the time they spend collectively and locate their complimenting international-perspectives introduced on by using the era hollow to be stimulating and an infinite source of entertainment. it is maximum on no account immoral, and not unlawful. i assume what i'm attempting to assert is age should not be the only ingredient you seek for. adulthood and psychological stability count variety for plenty extra suitable than a decade or 2.

No, but our society is more approving of this concept than it is of men having "fluid sexuality." This is mainly because in our heterosexual male dominated society, the idea of (young and sexy by hetero male standards) girl on girl action is an active fantasy for many men.

That being said, were it not for our social expectation for people to fit into a false dichotomy of straight or gay, I think a large percentage of people, probably 80% or more, would fit somewhere on the sexuality continuum that would be considered bisexual.

I suspect the idea that homosexuality is a "choice" comes from people who fit somewhere between the extremes of this spectrum and they feel they "chose" when in fact they followed their stronger attraction (using the Kinsey 7 point scale as an example, where 0 = heterosexual and 6 = homosexual, someone who is a 1 or 2 could easily find comfort living a heterosexual lifestyle). Just my view on the issue.

Haaaaaa haaaaaaaa haaaaaa haaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!! Fluid!!

Ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!!!! Thanks for the definition of fluid! I really needed that!! Now if I just can erase that image of a wet ____________.

Women are just so much more mature than men. Women are more flexible (ha ha again--physically too). They grew up being allowed to feel. That allows them to love better because they are more in touch with their feelings. Women are better at multi-tasking and men have a one tracked mind. Also Women are people oriented and Men are Thing oriented. All of these differences in the sexes I'm sure play a part in the sexuality of the sexes.

Well I've been a lesbian as long as I can remember ever having sexual motivations. And trust me, I've never swung "out on a limb" on the lesbian tree so to speak = P

By the way what the phuck does Dan Savage know about my orientation or any woman's for that matter? (wow that was dykey lol)

I don't know if women's actual sexual orientation is more fluid, but society is more accepting of a woman being bisexual than a man. I personally think that everyone's sexuality is fluid, it's just women are more likely to admit it.

I agree. It's more accepted in US culture for women to do things such as wear mens' clothes, do things that are stereotypically male and fall in love with other women than it is for men to do the things women do. I do think it's only cultural, though. If our culture was different, you can bet these things would be.

More than fluid, I would say flexible. I think a large reason for it is that women don't face nearly the societal stigma that men do for experimenting sexually within their own gender.

I agree with that, because it seems as if you see more "straight" women kissing and fooling around with other women rather than the other way around with straight men kissing and fooling around. I don't know if that has to do with their sexual orentation shifting...or if they do it for attention or just because they get drunk.
