They were all people who mistook the Republican platform for being the actual Bible.

Think about it...Compassionate Conservative? Isn't that an oximoron? By definition a conservative is incapable of compassion. Passion, yes, compassion no. They think putting a nickle in the Salvation Army drum at Christmas is showing compassion for the poor. See how compassionate the Republican Administration was after Katrina? Weren't they so very compassionate. Barbara Bush even opined as to how much better she thought the people were in the Superdome rather than their own homes. Sort of like Marie Antoinette and her "let them eat cake" comment.
