I'd like to do something creative with them, or put them to good use. I know I can recycle them, but I want to USE them, somehow.

Make homemade jams and jellies and give several jars as Christmas gifts.
Glue 4-5 to a board and toss paperclips, rubber bands etc in them.
Give them to a day care or preschool or grade school to use for craft project. Ask a Sunday School teacher if they can use them for crafts, also vacation Bible school teacher.
Die sugar and make "sand paintings" with your kids.
Find tiny plastic animals and used rubber cement to glue to the lid. Then put glue around the edges of the lid to make a seal. Fill the jar with water and some glitter and twist the lid on TIGHT. Invert and you have a "snow globe"

Well, I think you can use them for family gifts. If you take some "puff" paint (paint found in tubes that you can get at michaels or another craft store), then you can put the family member's name on the jar and decorate them. (You can also do this with your kids...) You can make some melted wax and pour some wax into the jars to make candles (you can also put dye in the wax to make it a different color...). That way, when you open the jar, you see a beautiful candle and a wonderfully decorated jar. (My family makes different gifts every year, that's where the idea came from... :) Good luck and if my idea does not help, then you can ask some employees at a craft store what to do; they always have some great ideas :).

Here is a little project you might want to try. In your garage or shop or wherever you do your crafts, hobbies, etc. take a 1x4. 1x6, or whatever size strikes your famcy, and line up the caps in a row on the board. Screw the caps onto the board using small screws and be careful not to overtighten them. Reverse the board (with caps secured), and paint or stain the entire board and anchor it to the wall with "L" brackets. Put nails, screws, little regularly used items that will fit in the jars or anything else that you may need in a hurry, into the jars and just screw them onto the caps. You can "color-code" your jars or just put lables on the front of the board.

storage - protecting paperclips, small pins, thumbtacks, etc. Pots for small plant life? Paintholders for crafts. My very own prominent, nonetheless, is from whilst i develop right into a baby. We used the tall toddler nutrients jars in woman Scouts to make a snowglobe. They have been washed, the covers peeled away cleanly, and dried out. Then we took a figurine of a few form - something that may not weaken in water will artwork. i think of we used difficult plastic collectible figurines from Wal-Mart - and warm-glued it to the backside of the jar. After it set and dried, glitter and sequins have been extra, then chilly water. The lid develop into sealed and fixed into place, and voila! Snowglobe.

Well either recycle them or use them to store small things in them like nails, screws , etc.
Also you could make an candle chandelier out of them. Use some iron wire, and some plyers, hock em up with the wire and than put a candle in it.

You can make them into candle holders. Paint them like a stained glass design with some glass paint.

Store little things in them. Or use them for paint jars, when the children start to paint. (Ask at the local school if they can use them!)
