I am doing a revenge spell and in that spell it calls for blackberry leaves but when I went to order them it says that blackberry leaves are used for Healing, Money, Protection...so is there something different I should use???

If the spell calls for blackberry leaves... use it. You really shouldn't substitiute unless you know what's what when it comes to herbs. Backberries have thorns which is why it is probably called for in the spell. If you ask me, the good stuff is High John the Conquerer root, or any herb that ends in "bane" ...But if you didn't know that then chances are you really shouldn't be messing with the stuff. My advice to you is learn a bit more before dabbling in something that you really don't understand. The wiccans are not the only magical folk with a paridigm that expresses reciprocity. In fact they all do in one way or another, be sure to fully understand the ethics of the pardigim in which you are working ESPECIALLY before you curse someone.

I have never heard of blackberry leaves used in a curse. (By the way, 'curse' is just the same as any form of dark magick- it is permanent, a one-off and irreversible).

Generally, I do not follow the spells of others, but if you believe this is the spell you would like to use then use what it tells you. Using something other could be more harmful to yourself than to the person you are trying to harm.

However, I will tell you that any form of magick designed to hurt another is Black Arts, and I do not advise it. Being a White Witch, it is obvious my opinion would be biased, but I strongly believe that if you have been done wrong then it is better to heal yourself than hurt another.

Blackberry leaves have indeed been used for wealth and cleasing, and protection against the negative. Perhaps it is there to protect you from your own spell. Else, it would have no place in a harmful spell.

If you must use a spell that someone else has made, then never alter the instructions or the ingredients/apparatus. Improvisation is okay in some influencial spells (or to make it more personal), but I would keep with the blackberry leaves.

Also, rememebr that Magick, in my practises, is merely a manipulation of energies and nothing more. I rarely use spells anymore as I can call on those metaphysical energies and powers without the need of a rite or connection. WHITE magick is merely actions that lead to a reaction, like a chemistry or physics. Black magick, however, calls on using the energies of others as a catalyst, which is why it is harmful to accidentally bring this on yourself! So I urge you to keep true to what you have been told if it is from a reliable source!

In love and light, Tasha x p.s. please think before you curse someone- vengeance is only as sweet as the person who seeks it is evil. I am not a Wiccan, however I follow the paths of good, and Perfect Justice, whereby people will be punished for their actions anyway without you needing to intervene ^_^

knowing the other ingredients might help. The ingredients for a spell usually should flow together to help balance each other or so each item will have the desired effect. It could also have to do with protecting yourself from the spell, but that could just be a Wiccan belief. Don't put something in a spell just cuz it calls for it! Find out what it does for the spell first. Many old incense recipes call for hemlock or the like, but I wouldn't just put it in cuz it calls for it!

Don't do the spell if you don't have an exact formulation. A better revenge, if the person knows you are of the Craft, is, a walk past them with a small smile and these quiet words that they can hear; "It's on its way," then keep going and don't stop to argue no matter.

If it calls for blackberry leaves, you can substitute raspberry leaves.. they are also used for banishing.

Nettles work really well to return a curse to its intender.. I'm not sure if that applies.. you simply said a "revenge" spell.

First off, I'm not Wiccan either...

But you should know that whether you believe in the Three-Fold Law or NOT, it will still come back to you. Magick, in the wrong hands, is VERY DANGEROUS.

I sort of feel bad about it, but I sort of agree with the baseball bad idea.

It probably calls for that because there might be something in it that changes the effects of the leaves. If it says to put it in, put that in, something else might make it backfire.

DON'T USE THIS METHOD THO, GET REVENG LIK NORMAL PPL!!!!!!!!!

Practice what you will but it will come back to you three fold so be prepared and don't whine it if backfires. I will have no sympathy for you. Go to Borders. They have books on anything and everything.
