How did you determine that the leak was from the wax ring? Was water running out from underneath the toilet, or did you just see water on the floor? How long has this condition existed? Did anything change that would cause the toilet to leak? Have you done any remodeling to the floor, which caused you to pull and reset the toilet? There are too many variables, that we don't know, so all you are getting here is guesses. Try and determine where the water is coming from. Use a flashlight, and lay down on the floor, and wipe the bowl dry, and then flush it, and watch for water. Good luck!

Well are you sure that its leaking from around the base of the toilet and not from where the water line is or maybe where the tank bolts to the bowl?

If its leaking from the base of the toilet (where it meets the floor) try doubling up the wax ring (use 2 wax rings) or try using a heavy wax ring (that's one with a rubber horn built into it). Also, make sure you level the toilet as you are tightening it down. if that doesn't work and the toilet still is leaking from the base then you probably have a crack in the flange that the toilet bolts down to which is keeping it from pulling down evenly on both sides and keeping it from making an air and water tight seal.

other things to check:

make sure the water connection is tight and dry and also that the bolts that secure the tank to the bowl are tight and dry. many times these 2 things mentioned can make it look like the toilet is leaking around the base when it actually isn't. Check it out just to be 100% positive.

If it is leaking around the base, the toilet may be cracked. If it is just continually runnning then it will be in the ball cock and flush lever adjustment or possible replacement. Would be pretty unusual for it to leak at the floor unless you have many years of built up crud, old wax rings, misplaced wax ring, cracked toilet, busted or missing closet bolt in the floor ring, or even a bad floor ring. These are usually not bad jobs but are frustrating. Especially tank adjustments. I can make anything leak but am finally getting to where 1 out of 3 plumbing projects works the 1st time.

When you install the toilet, you have to drop it straight down and not twist or rock it. If you do then you will get a leak. Did the wax ring come up high enough to meet the toilet? I have had to use 2 rings before. Assuming that the toilet bowl isn't cracked or damaged that is about all it could be, unless you have a leak in the pipe itself. Good luck

Is it leaking from the tank or at the base?

If from the tank try to tighten the bolts inside the tank going to the bowl check the rubber washers on the bolts or check the fill valve to see if it is leaking down

if its at the bowl you may have to get a double thick wax ring

if it is leaking around the wax ring then replace it again this time usin the larger wax seal. you can find these at most hardware stores. also make sure you havnt cracke the toliet itself somewhere, check and make sure its not comig from the seal between the tank and bowl, also make sure it not as simple as the supply line leaking

First, are you sure it's coming from the seal? It may be coming from between the tank and the seat. Some brands have rubber washers between them that can be replaced. It may also be your waterline feeding it or the valve assembly. If it isn't any of those you may have a crack in the bowl flange and sometimes if you put 2 wax seals in it will take care of it. Good luck!

If there's no obvious cracks in the toilet ,or leaking from tank or plumbing...............it sometimes takes a day or so for the wax seal and toilet base to fully seat...........it may help to heat the base of the toilet with a desk lamp or similar for a few hours.......to warm up the wax a bit. Had this experience once........solved the problem!!!!!!!!!
