Do you agree or disagree with the statement?

Explain your reasons.

1. "The supervisor’s primary objective should be to avoid making mistakes in employment decisions that can lead to EEO [Equal Employment Opportunity] complaints."

2. "Organizations should be allowed to hire anyone they choose."

That's 2 separate statements. The first one is wrong. That's not the primary objective of being a supervisor ... that's one objective, but not the most important one. The primary one is to help the company make a profit.

As for the second statement, I think it's OK for government to not allow discrimination, but the employer doesn't have to hire every person that comes in the door. The employer can (and should be able to) set minimum standards that have nothing to do with race, religion, sexual preference, etc. Unless of course the sexual of the person is a job requirement (like being a dancer at a strip club).
