This is not a well pump but rather a booster pump. Manufacturers spec does not list the amps required at start up and afterwards. Only says 115v

there are 746 watts in 1 horsepower
125 % to start and 85% to run

I have a 3/4 horse sump pump and I use a 20 amp breaker. I have it plugged into a 120 volt outlet and have no problems. Hope this helps , if you go this route I don't think you'll have any problem.

I would think that the data would be on a nameplate. If you had an ammeter you could plug it in and take a reading. I don't have an engineering handbook anymore, and most of the ones I worked on were 480V.

I would guess somewhere around 9A give or take.
