ExxonMobil has pumped more than $8 million into more than 40 think tanks; media outlets; and consumer, religious, and even civil rights groups that preach skepticism about the oncoming climate catastrophe.

There is nothing new in this story. Those who profit from the status quo have been on a campaign to stop anyone who says or does anything to alter this reality. Inventors get paid off or just disappear repeatedly, insuring no big changes. Many on Yahoo quote some of the sources listed in your link to prove climate change is a myth. Don't stop trying though, the more who read this kind of story the better.

Yeah, I always use Mother Jones as a source because they are so unbiased. Besides, ExxonMobil isn't the culprit here. Heaven forbid there should be skepticism over global warming. Here's a better link for you:

It is easy enough to see that the guy with the money gets to be heard - right or wrong he is heard

What disturbs me is that once again we are fighting with our own scientists - Hitler through control of the scientists had "proof" the jews were all genetically prone to evil and that the Slavic's were only useful to lift heavy objects

Before that it was galeliao that was executed for thinking the earth was round and traveled around the sun

Now it appears that certain scientists have proven that climate change is false and the money and the politics support those conclusions

See a pattern ?

I can not comment on the causes of the climate change but in my short life it has changed a lot

I'd prefer to listen to the scientist not on the government payroll or the corperate one etc

When the computer models can tell me if I'm getting wet right now, I'll start listening to what they say will happen next week. Even if I grant the earth is getting warmer, please show me actual evidence that global warming is a bad thing.
