I was playing some ball the other day, and me and another guy were running for the loose ball. It was rolling, but I didn't think I woulda got to it quick enough so i just boxed out, to let it roll outta bounds so I'd get it back. But the guy said it was a foul and i didn't think it was. I thought I could just box out whereever I felt like.

if you were moving, it would be a 'moving screen' foul.

There is no such thing as a 'block out foul'.

I don't think there is such things as box out fouls because dauring all these years that I played basketball and boxed out there was never a foul called against my boxing out. All that ever happens is that if I shift over the other guy falls and makes the coach mad.

It is like every contact that is made in basketball. You can receive a foul called if there is a refree who thinks you have made contact to try to hinder the play. You need to be playing the ball. If you aren't going for the ball, you can NOT be moving in front of someone. You can just stand there and block him that way, but you can not move in front of him. That is a foul.

i think u made the foul because maybe u were moving, its the same as charging if u want him to charge u, and u move, it is a defensive foul cause u moved so u can box out s long u stay still, u can only move while boxing out in a rebound because a boxing out is more or less like a screen, if u move, ur gonna make a defensive foul
