There is LARGE and there is large. Except for liters, the other measurements are in cubic length units. If something is large, like a large TV set in a box, cubic meters may be appropriate. If you are talking about bottles of soda, the liter is appropriate. If you are talking about dishing out small amounts of liquid medicine to a child, the cubic centimeter may be appropriate. You can go even lower, as is done in microchemistry, down to the cubic millimeter (about the size of a few sugar crystals) or a small drop of water.
