think before you speak and try to speak slowly. practice speaking like this and it will change that stuttering. i think your tongue is short. i say this because my brother stutters too when he talks and we will laugh at him most of the time. the doctor said he has a short tongue. if it doesn't improve and it really bothers you, consult a speech therapist.

Relaxing and using a slower, articulate speech pattern with frequent pauses will help. Self Therapy for the Stutterer by The Stuttering Foundation is the book that helped several of my uncles and cousins. Many public libraries have it or you can get it from the Foundation.

First, go to a specialist in speech therapy and physiology to make sure nothing medical is wrong.

If that is clear, most likely you suffer from an anxiety that stems from fear of being rejected, challenged or confronted....all of those things can be adjusted to if you have the desire.

Try talking to yourself in the mirror at home too. This is a practice that helps build confidence and slows your speech down enough for you to see where you are having problems.

Blessings to you.

It might be as simple as speaking more slowly and taking the time to think about what you're saying and enunciating your words. However, if you believe you need more help, look up a licensed speech therapist. They can help you figure out what the underlying problem is and work to correct it.

Try a speech therapist. Also, if you don't have, or don't want to spend the money just yet, look it up on a health site like Yahoo! Health or WebMD. You might find something you can do yourself.

And I'm only plucking pheasants 'cause the pheasant plucker's late.

And I'm only plucking pheasants till the pheasant pluckers come.

Betty Botter bought some butter, "But", she said "this butter's bitter, If I put it in my batter, it will make my batter bitter! But a bit of better butter will make my batter better!". So she bought some better butter, better than the bitter butter, and she put it in her batter and her batter was not bitter! So 'twas better Betty Botter bought a bit of better butter.

I sometimes have problems with my accent and makes it hard for people to understand me especially when i read. I try to practice talking or reading outloud to practice my pronunciation when I'm by myself.
