The mass of an American quarter is about 5.6 grams. 453.5 grams in a pound. So you'd have about $20 (80 quarters) in a pound of quarters.

Multiple $20 * 35 and you have an approximtation of the answer.

You will need a scale such as a postal or diet scale that weighs in ounces. Weigh out ten ounces of quarters. Count out what that comes to in dollars & cents. Multiply that answer by 56, & you will have the value of 35 pounds [560 ounces ] of quarters.
