i don't believe CBS fired Imus.free speech being the reason that MTV and BET are still around.Are we not allowed to listen and watch what we want instead of catering to all the sensitivity...Imus has done more good than hurt.Some of which involve my wife who is a proud soldier.soldier benefits,walter reed;autism,fallen heroes fund. I don;t see al sharpton or jessie jacksons contibutions to anything but discourse and accusations only involving their free advertisement.the answer ABSOLUTELY NOT !!!!!!!!

different than the reality that C BS desires to take a splash warmth off yet another scandal of their very own..PLAGIARISM at CBS ..they're enjoying into the unfairness liberal schedule , feeding into white racism and merchandising hatred ..and hypocrisy . CBS fired a producer for plagiarizing a Wall St. magazine article of Jeffrey Zaslow's .. despite the fact that it facilitates to fireside Imus too , as a results of fact then in line with threat their record of coming up up the information returned ( are you able to assert 2004 Presidential Election ) would be coated up with the Imus tale .

Don Imus was a cocaine addicted alcoholic who just happened to have a flair for 'shock jock' broadcasting (and I think the whole genre is pretty old and outdated by now). I for one do not care what happens to him - he was out of line just like the rap artists and comedians you mention.
Let's assume that YOU had a daughter at UCLA for example
and Imus said of her and the others: Yeah, those are some real whores there - would you just laugh? I don't think so. You and the school administrators would be wanting his head on the chopping block.

All speech is not free, some have a high price. The legal term is slander.

CBS took the path of least resistance. With all the rap sh*t that is out there...it's time for those of us who stand behind Imus to begin the attack on those who support rap. I propose that those of us who are balanced in our judgement begin a boycott of all the sponsors that threatened to pull their ads if Imus wasn't fired. You can bet your a** I will never watch MSNBC or CBS until Imus is vindicated.

Mabey because more is expected of whites ? be honest- segments of society expect whites [in general] to be civil and have higher standards. Black leaders will have to so something about this--for things to really change.

At first I thought yes, but I keep reading posts that point out black rappers call women hos all the time, so it's ridiculous that a white man should be fired for doing the same.
