As a woman, I was not offended by the "ho's" remark, if I was I could have changed the channel. No one asks anyone to listen to Imus or any other talk personality. I have a choice and if I do not like something someone says, I can choose to watch something else.
What is troubling me now is that Al Sharpton who is showing himself to be a true BIGOT is also controlling the media?! And where are the people calling for his head since he has yet to apologize to the Duke lacrosse players? And where is the outrage in the black community that Al Sharpton makes his money profitting off of the problems that plaque society yet does noting in return?

It's a completely different situation. Even Snoop Dogg commented on this. He said that rappers should not be put in the same boat as Imus cuz if he's talkin about a woman like that, he's just referring to the fact that she's trifling or whatever. I don't think he said that exact word but that's close to what he meant. When Imus said what he did, it seemed like he was tryna be racist. And Snoop Dogg didn't use the word nappy head in front of it either. So he just said it was different. Now I'm not acting like rappers are saints or anything but you can't compare Imus to rappers. Imus makes racist remarks. Some rappers make sexist remarks. So I think that's when the difference comes into play.

I'm happy. He is nothing special.Plus he is old he knows better. He's obviously not four-years old.I don't understand why rappers like 50 Cent get away with it.But just because they get away with it doesn't mean other people should try to follow in their foot steps.I would love to stop rappers from saying rude things like Imus. But the only thing I can do is refuse to buy anything that has anything to do with them.Eventually I think they will all be knocked down.Just like Imus.

Imus was fired by CBS, but you're right: the hypocrisy is what's offensive. Black rappers can call women "bitches" and "*******" and "whores" without repercussion, but if a white guy does it, it offends the entire black community!
If Imus is going to get fired (which I believe is appropriate) then why don't they fire Howard Stern, Rush Limbaugh, and all the other "talk" radio hosts who spew forth with their daily filth, hatred, bigotry, bias, and sexism. -RKO- 04/12/07

Fired from CBS & NBC. So is this the new 1st amendment? Freedom of speech unless Al Sharpton has an issue with it.. then yo'*** is fired. If he got "fired" everytime he said something racially charged or just plain stupid he would be on a corner with a cup looking for spare change.

some races seek ANY opportunity they can to make others pity them.
Some races need to use this energy used to *itch about 'poor me' into bettering themselves.
If I belonged in a race and came to a country that was SO BAD and treated SO HORRIBLE, I would pack my bags and move back home, can you say amen?
