I think people who use it are rude...I'm white and I hate hearing anyone say it.

I must admit that I use that word on a daily bases. It's really not healthy as is any other word with negative meaning. However, hearing it when others say it doesn't make me flip out and I shouldn't have a reason to because I use it myself. i am not one of those people that use it freely and get mad when other races say it.

I think it is a terrible word which evokes racism. I especially hate hearing it from the African American community at large. I hear it in the hip hop songs that they sing. If one white person uses it all hell breaks loose. If many black people use it in songs and otherwise its alright. I just hate the hypocrisy of the word. We are all trying to get through this life together. To live and to die peacefully.

I'm an occasional N word user, not going to lie. But anytime I call someone that is because they are ignorant. I've said it to Black, White, Latino Asian, any body ignorant. That's what it meant when Whites gave that name to us. But racist just take it to a whole new different level. Even my White friends say it, and it's only to people ignorant. They are cool with Blacks and Latinos in a neighborhood, so rarely they argue with them. A few of my White friends said it to White people, and some Asian, but it wasn't because they were being racist. If they were, they wouldn't be my friend, or cool with other Black people.

Back in the day the slave owners used it to belittle the slaves. To make them feel less than human.
The word screams ignorance.
Yet people continue to use it, & it doesn't matter which spelling is used. Both are equally as bad.

It's a put down and a slam on African Americans and others. It should not be used by anyone to describe another person.

don't use it even in friendly context, you may accidentally offend someone. people use it to hurt others, like c**t or bi**h, etc. and all those words can get your butt kicked by a large group of people. ouch

No one has the right to say it, it's a mean and nasty word used to degrade and belittle someone and no race should use it!

i think if African-Americans can call Whites "crackers" and "whiteys" and call Mexicans "Beaners" without being called racist then people of every race should be able to call African Americans "the N word" without being racist.
