Colorado is the answer. Pikes Peak is not the highest is 14,110. Mt. Elbert is 14,443. Pikes Peak is very high, but it is one of the shorter 14ers, of which it is generally accepted that there are 54 in Colorado. There are none in Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, but there are some in California and Washington.

The Rockyt Mountains cut throughn Colorado. Pikes Peak is the tallest point in the mountain range. Colorado is known for its skiing scene and mountains. Nebraska isn't much an option, nor is misourri or Oklahoma. Colorado is your answer.
