Okay, say a group of people are kidnapping random people for political gain. In this situation, it would be logical to override the constitution so that the police could detain anyone SUSPECTED of being the hostage takers to speed up the invesitigation. This is for the good of society, and agree with it.

Do you think politicians should have the right to override the constitution if it is for the good of society?

No way- destroying society "for its own good" is ridiculous- no matter what Vice President Cheney told you. It would mean the hostage taker's tactics worked! Instead of holding a few people hostage, they'd effectively be holding the entire nation hostage.

If we don’t like what the Constitution says then we should amend it. We just can’t decide to follow it sometimes, and not others, and think that we have any solid foundation whatsoever for a government and civil liberties for ourselves. Security should always be a priority but it is no excuse to throw our basic constitutional protections out the window and treat them as matters of convenience.

It is too easy for the globalists to make these kinds of things happen and then blame it on someone else. They do it all the time. It is part of the strategy that they use to forward their NWO agenda. So they might do such a thing as kidnapping a group of people and tell all of us that so and so did it, then they can have an excuse to override the constitution for their own benefit, while making us believe that it is for our benefit. Since they own and control ALL the mainstream media, it is very easy for them to spew all the propaganda they want, and to brainwash lots of people into buying their lies. This is normal operating procedure for the globalist Illuminati. *sm*

Not at all dude! It may be a good idea but the constitution is torn up and abused enough without telling politician that they can overide it. give them that kind of freedom and we'll find ourselves in a tyranny pretty quick here

The constitution is the basis for our govt. Change it and the govt changes. What to, you don't know but I can tell you it won't be better. There already is a process to change the rights allowed to you by amendments. Seems we should start banning changes to that by the way are politicians are abusing it. I think amendments should be by public vote not congressional votes.

Yes, but it must be through a law passed by Congress, signed by the president and ratified by the majority of states...otherwise it is against the democracy we live and the laws of this nation...in other words, if something is done in the name of security that is unconstitutional, it is a crime
