Do some volunteer work - put the ex love as really low priority in the group of things to think about! Don't waste your life thinking about someone who is not thinking about you!

They say the average person falls in love 4 times in their lives. Knowing that seemed to help me. I've never forgotten my first true love and think about him sometimes still. It's been 24 years.

Chain him to the bed that way you'll never forget him. - or Drop him off in the forest and you'll eventually forget where you put him :) hahaha
Seriously though, it just takes time. Lots and lots of painful time, keep your head up.

You get a life and keep yourself busy. Having too much time on your hands causes you to ponder life's twists and turns and sometimes you have to get a hold of life and snap your mind back into shape. It can be hard but your the only one that can do it.

What always worked for me is to keep busy, and remember all the reasons it didn't work - either for me, or for HER. But I still think of her almost every single day. And I don't want twelve women, just her.

I usually think about something complex. That gets her off my mind for a while, especially if I need to work out some bugs that are causing problems.
