Why do you think it's a racist remark? It was directed at the entire team, not an individual, and the team consists of more than just one race. It is amusing that only one race took offense however.
There is a little thing that used to be an integral part of this country called freedom of speech. Now it's called double standard.

Freedom of speach is dying a slow painful death right before our eyes.
Double standards and the blame game. Nothing will ever change until we ALL find a common ground.
Imus is a pig therefore I don't listen to his show and no one is forcing you to listen either.
Rise above people and stop blamming each other for something that happened a long time ago.
You said "African Americans suffered enough". Every race thoughout history has suffered at some time. The Moors conquered and enslaved the people of Italy... maybe I should hold that against them and demand restitution or... move on and become a part of something better. Its called equality. America is the melting pot of the world. There is no "pure" race. No single person or race is better OR responsible for things that have gone on in the past. We are only responsible for the things going on now. When will learn that?

One would think they would have tougher skins than that. It's like white people or other ethnic groups have never been called names or insulted on TV before. Even though it was wrong of him to say that, don't blow it all out of proportion. He should have gotten fired and he did. Non-in the spotlight people get fired for that kind of thing in the workplace so he should not be any different. But it's over now so get over it. I live in a predominantly black neighborhood and the things I hear people call each other makes me blush. Mothers calling their kids all kinds of names so one would think it would just go off their backs like water off a duck. I'm white and I don't care if people call me a honky or a mick. So what, it's just a name.

he has already been fired.
Everyone is responsible for themselves, and what happened in the past with Africans CERTAINLY has not been of MY doing. The past is the past, how many hundred years do we have to hear about the 'poor Africans?'
If Africans turned American now would simply knock the block they have on their shoulders and simply not seem to feel that the situation they are currently in, be it homelessness, aids, or poverty is any fault but their own, and be RESPONSIBLE for their actions, seek the many opportunites available to them AND do something about it THEMSELVES, the world would be a much better place.
In about 20-30 years, the caucasians will be the minority.
All I can say is, just wait, it will be the caucasians turn to be the ones to be able to get benefits just for being the minority-THEN let's see how Rev. Jackson will stick by THIS underpriveleged minority then........

This is some of the most over-blown horseshit I have seen in a long time. It's also the most attention the country has paid to Imus in a long time. Why did it take two days for the country to find out he said anything? Because no one listens to his show.. thats why. If the news media hadn't picked it up and fed it to those two nappy headed jackasses (Sharpton & Jackson), no one would care about it now. Sharpton and Jackson make racially charged comments all the time, but they get a pass because they are black. That double standard got old a long time ago. Hey Sharpton.. remember all of those statements you made about a year ago regarding the boys at Duke university.. BEFORE fact #1 was established? Where is YOUR apology? A$$ hole. And Jackson.. been to "HymieTown" lately? Like I said.. blacks sit around all day just looking for a reason to scream about being offended about anything that the wind kicks up. To the entire race I have just one word: WAAAAAAaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now run to yahoo and report me.. like I give a fluck.
Thank you.

Don Imus is not nearly as bad as Howard Stern as far as insulting people(Have you ever seen Stern's televised radio show?...He is always trying to get women naked...)...Imus does charity work-he has a ranch used as a retreat for terminally ill kids...OK, I guess he did get fired...Now, I think this thing has really blown out of proportion and Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have gone way too far...

Cut off all his "funding" and let him come to Philly and see how long he lasts before he discovers that bullet holes in your head can't be removed without medical attention. Then let him out of the Emergency Room to see how much Brotherly Love he's going to get bandaged up, broken down, and hated. Then maybe he'll start recognizing people's potential and talent instead of their skin color.
