My father was an Irishman(American). In the spring he used to get up early to walk barefoot in the dew. This was many years ago; recently I read that many Celts in Ireland used to do this. Does anyone here know about it? Why was it done?

My father did say that it was healthy, but he never gave any details.

I looked up on a website, and it said women would wash their faces with dew to maintain their beauty and youth. Not sure about men though...but I have found that they believed that dew could cure a lot of things. For example, it was used in a lot of potions and blessings. It's considered holy water to the Celtics, from what this website says.

It's a festival, a celebration called Beltaine, and yes, it's in the spring. Well, actually, at the beginning of summer.

I don't know. But it sounds like I'd enjoy it!
