The short answer is: Marble.

"Marble is a metamorphic rock resulting from regional or rarely contact metamorphism of sedimentary carbonate rocks, either limestone or dolostone. This metamorphic process causes a complete recrystallization of the original rock into an interlocking mosaic of calcite, aragonite and/or dolomite crystals. The temperatures and pressures necessary to form marble usually destroy any fossils and sedimentary textures present in the original rock."

Marble is (B) a metamorphic rock. Marble is a metamorphic rock that comes from metamorphosed limestone or dolomite. Metamorphism means that the original rock (the parent rock) was subjected to heat and pressure which changed its structure (morphed it) into a new structure even though the atoms are the same. Limestone is mostly calcite or calcium carbonate, CaCO3. Dolomite CaMg(CO3)2 is related to limestone but is rich in magnesium. Marble has a uniform texture (non-foliated). There is a lot of variation in the color and texture of marble. The two main influences are the kind of limestone that makes up the parent rock and the kind and degree of metamorphism. It can be most any color including white, black, reds, greens, and more. It is usually course grained though fine-grained marble is found in some places and is highly prized for creating sculptures. Marble is used as building materials for its strength and beauty. Marble will fizz when in contact with acid, so carry a little bottle of dilute HCl with you. If it fizzes, it might be marble.

Dude, marble IS a rock. It's a metamorphosed version of limestone. Drop a little dilute HCl on it and you'll see that it fizzes...proof that it's calcium carbonate.
