just playin, but i understand your concern. It is a little scary that this generation cares more about who was kicked off American Idol or when Paris Hilton's next sex tape is coming out then the real pressing issues of our country.

Because at the moment, people need a break from politics. I know that sounds bad, but for the past 8 years...we've been slammed with political messages, and we're tired. This entire Bush run has been tiring. How often can we watch Sesame Street before something has to give?

Just an add on...how can the American people be expected to take politics seriously, when the elected officials don't? This administration has created a sense of learned helplessness amongst Americans. Why complain and voice your opinion, and give a dam... if it's going to be ignored anyway?

Because we are witnessing the decline of intelligent thought due to ignorant people avoiding birth control...

Also, the media tells us what we are going to see - there is really no contact between the real Americans watching TV and the people who decide what programs to air...

When was the last time someone asked you what song you wanted to hear on the radio or which TV show was your favorite?

When Britney Spears releases a new single - you will hear it on the mainstream radio and MTV 30 times a day before anyone has really even decided that they like it....

But if Ani DiFranco (who actually plays an instrument and has a good singing voice) releases a new album then it never gets any radio play because she doesn't have Pepsi's advertising money helping her out...

NBC talks about American Idol on their nightly news and it's not even on their station.... how stupid of them.... they are making FOX an authoritarian ruler of the media...

American Idol is for all ages to watch and enjoy
Kids can't enjoy presidential campaigns when they don't understand them.
..That's my thought.
Also American Idol is entertainment.
Campaign is something people take seriously.. and it can probably be stressful for some.
