On my camping trailer, I have to remove the cover on the outside of the vehicle, which gives access to the rear of the unit, turn the valve from "DC" to "GAS". then hold down the valve while pushing the "ignite" button.
This usually takes several minutes, as there is air in the pilot burner line. Sometimes, if you haven't used the fridge on gas for a few months, spiders clog up the pilot burner and it must be cleaned out before it will work.
Newer and better fridges are all automatic and all you have to do is move a switch on the front to select "ac" "DC" or "gas" and it uses whichever is the best choice at the time.
Never run on "DC" while parked or without AC power hooked up, as it will drain your batteries in a couple hours.

Hi A spark Igniter light the propain gas when the fridge is on the gas.
When it is on electric it is not used.
So when you change the fridge to gas it lights the gas. It is electric. If you have one of them grills that runs on propain and you pust to light the gas it is the same thing, but it does it automaticly.

It's the same type of igniter use to light barbecue grills. Your fridge is a propane operated one, look carefully and you will see the burner.

when you run on propane the igniter lights the burner, but you may only need a sparkey to light yours. check with the maker of your refrigerator on the internet, the maker and model should be inside the door on a plate.

It's a hand held tool that creates a spark.
You'll find them at most RV supply stores.
