"fare thee well" has a few meanings

may it go well with you
take care of yourself
goodbye

Is the word in the second line 'well' or 'weel'?
I think these lines from an old poem mean that the person saying them bids goodbye for a short period to his/her beloved, and wishes him/her a happy time.
