I need some ideas for a new sketch I'm trying to do. Well, a new story–novel–novella–tale, whatever you wanna call it. Does anyone have any ideas?

I want any ideas for a novel or short story. I haven't written anything in months, even though I love to write (a perfectionist–so I can't just WRITE). I'd love for a plot to come to mind in anyone's mind (please do not say "i will NOT give you ideas because________" If you want to answer, answer. If you don't, don't. But I'd prefer a realistic fiction genre or a character sketch....or kind of a dreamlike state. I'm a poetic person

I want to write a short story/novel.
Does anyone have ideas?
Please: I'd like realistic fiction novel or fantasy (not complex fantasy; more like a dreamy poetic fantasy) Or idea.
Just a vague idea would be fine.
Can anyone help?

Poetic? Oh, boy! There is always the typical character who learns he/she is about to die, and in the last months/years/days of their life, learns a valuable yet heartbreaking lesson about life itself. Tragic, yet sublime, you know. Or how about a character who does what he/she thinks is the "right thing," but learns later that he/she didn't do the right thing, and has to learn and adjust his/her thinking and actions, not to mention repair the damage. Yes, I know, I'm being disgustingly general; however, the parameters you have given still offer quite a bit of latitude.

How about writing a story based on a personal experience?

You could do something about a special holiday memory or a relative/family member. If you read Truman Capote's "A Christmas Memory" you will understand.

You could also do a "fantasy" sequence or story based on daydreaming. Maybe fantasies like what Ralphie did in "A Christmas Story." So, you could have a "geek" or "nerdy" girl studying her heart out but fantasizing about doing well in a basketball tournament (or something totally different from her comfort zone)

If your into something dreamlike- a love story would probably be best. Write about a character who is really kind and talented, and smart, and has a special gift like art or music. ya, music! that's good. Say she's abused and writes songs about how she feels. Then, she gets sent away to a boarding school and meets some guy. They become friends, and he helps to build her self-esteem and confidence, and then, they fall in love, aww!! hope that helped! let me know what u decide to do!

Some Plot Ideas..
-the experiances of the first lady president
-a school in lock down for a week and how the students bond together and survive a terrifying terrorist attack.
-a man gets drunk and hits a kid in his truck. How the experiance made him fix his life.
-any story told by the view of animals and how their society works
-the rise of a girl from unpopular to prom queen by winning a complete makeover. how she goes on to show she is the same person and keeps her friends.
-a person wins a billion dollars and has to give it all away. how they have to choose who to help.
-the world ends and there are only 10 teens left to try to rebuild the earth as we know it.

anything can be turned into a story if you get really creative and really get into it!!! good luck,

OK. i knew of two sisters loved the same man or two brothers fell in love of the same girl, i myself like this kind of plots.

you can also write about wars and how does it change ppl and future.

what about a short story that describe the feelings of a man in the funeral of the person, who ever he is, that deprived him from being with his only love??!!

the ideas are many and i read that all movies, serials and novels are restricted in only 36 themes!!! but what matter how you narrate the plot, how you describe your characters and build up your unique story out of an idea.

good luck and i`ll appreciate it if you send me a copy one day, signed please:)
