Teixiera is by far the better option. Duncan hasnt even started every game this year and will continue to play about 5 games a week and Tex is an elite fantasy 1st baseman. Never fall in love with the hot guy...always go with the elite player who will post numbers close to their average year in and year out. Duncan could very easily hit 25 bombs this season...that could be around 15 to 20 less than Teixeira. Tex hit 25 bombs after the All Star break last year....Duncan hit 22 the entire season. Also Duncan only had 43 RBI (Tex had 110), that means he hits HR when the bases are empty and when pitchers are more willing to challenge him....they wont be so quick to challenge him knowing his power this year. Teixeira has proven he can handle all situations and is entering his prime years (just turned 27). Like Duncans potential but not even remotely close in fantasy terms to Teixeira (plus I seriously doubt a trade like that wont get vetoed in the first place).

NO WAY. if you had albert pujols would you trade him for chris duncan right now? pujols had an off start but im sure you wouldn't trade him away if u had him. same with tex. tex is a sure 35 HR 100 RBI guy and duncan is possibly a 25 hr 90 rbi guy. tex is proven and is a switch hitter. remember, the baseball season is only a week old. dont go off trading superstars for possible 2 years away stars. just look at teixeira's career stats. he's very young and awesome. remember, no team has played 10 games yet out of 162. relax and be patient.

Think about it do you really want to give up on your 2nd round pick before the first month of baseball? Duncan doesn't even start, he competes for playing time with taguchi and wilson(they suck, but the job still isn't his.) Duncan's a free agent in my league and i wouldn't give up bench spot for him and especially not my second rounder, Tex will come around, Duncan won't get close, even compared to Tex's "slump year".

Keep Teixeira - don't be a panicking fool. But if you want to come to one of the leagues I run, I could use a pigeon for trades like that!!!! lol
Seriously, that is a top 30 player for someone that went undrafted in some leagues. What do YOU think you should do??

A big NO WAY to the trade.
Duncan at his best will do .300 with 30 HR and 80 RBI.
Tex at his worst will do .285 with 35 HR and 95 RBI

Tex.
Slump or no slump - He will outperform Duncan by year end in homers and RBI's.

Teixeira is off to what is now a typical slow start. He's hitting just .250 with no homers and one RBI in his first 32 at-bats. Nothing to worry about. He has proven "bounce-back capability" before and should be trusted to do so again this season.
