Hey
So, you go back in time and kill your own father before you were born...what happens?! If you're his son, and you kill him before you're born, then you were never born, which would mean you couldn't of gone back in time to kill him.
Not looking for the answer, just the name for this situation. I know it's something scientific, but i just can't remember....any ideas?

Seeing as we do not know everything in the universe yet, then it is a bit harsh to say that time travel is imposible, Bekki.

I think time travel can be predicted in few theories, like wormholes, but im not 100% sure about what the theory is, only know the basics.

And yes, it is a paradox. And when you mean father, im guessing you mean before he had you otherwise - which would be incorrect as if you went back in time to before "he had you" then we would be a father. =P

Let us put aside the question whether time travel is possible or not.
Let's guess that it might be possible.
There is a theory that all possibilities of the future (and of past too)
are real in alternative universes.
So if you travel back in time and by accident you cause the death of one of your forefathers
then you couldn't travel back into your world - where you have come from - because
you wouldn't be procreated by your forefather because of his death.
If you travel back (forward in time now) then you would get into another world,
where you never had been born. You would just appear there without history.
And in your world where you have come from, they would never see you again because
from their point of view you didn't return from your time travel.
