I'm straight, but most reasons I see posted as to why people "shouldn't be gay" ARE ignorant.

I think it's fine for you to be homophobic, I've ho problem with homophobia, you don't like it don't do it.
However, when the talk is disrespectful, it will be treated with disrespect.
If you say it with respect, it'll get respected.
Learn the difference, it's pretty simple.
If you wish to argue on points, that's fine, but if you tell me I'm going to hell, I just won't accept that easily, because there's just so much wrong with those statements, including that people pick and choose from the bible.
Mind you, ignorance in gay men is no different than ignorance in hetero men, it's all just ignorance. It's more of a personal thing, not a gay or straight thing.
That is, don't judge a book by it's cover.

First of all, I agree w/ the answerer above of me, and I AM straight, but there is no reason for you to take any of that back.
Second, Baby, you are ignorant. The first answerer was right, too!
Why shouldn't they yell at you? You judge them based of who or what they are attracted to.
How is it that they are a horrible group of people and do so much bad in the world when you hardly ever hear of a gay man or woman being arrested for some heinous crime.
We always hear about men molesting little girls, but when you hear about a gay man molesting alittle boy, it's of course b/c he's gay that he's so screwed, right? WRONG. If this guy (or woman) were straight, then they'd be molesting a little girl instead (or little boy).
You are a homophobic (no sh!t). Why? Has a gay person "dissed" you? If so, do you just ban an entire group of people? I mean they don't have 3 heads, they are different, but that's it. I mean, plenty of straight people must have p!ssed you off at some point, but no one just gets all "oh, I hate straight people".
How would you feel if we lived in a world where everyone was gay, and that was theway to be? Being gay meant you had yor head on right or on "straight". And of course you were attracted to your opposite sex. Everyone around you judged you b/c of it. There was an entire group of people, "heterophobics" who hated you not for your color, or "race" or even your religion, but b/c you didn't like who or what they did. HOW WOULD YOU FEEL with the entire world judging you b/c you were different?
Do you know why the Holocaust happened? B/c Germany was all out of money from being blamed for WWI, and "The Jews Had All The Money". So, b/c they were different, 6 million Jews were persecuted, along with another 5 million "undesirables".
How would you feel if I was supposedly "superior" to you and the rest of the world, and I got to decide whether or not you were "desirable"? What if a gay man or woman was? You'd be screwed, that's what. If they wanted to strip you of your right to be happy as long as you aren't harming anyone, take away your right to marry someone of the opposite sex.
Wouldn't you fight back? Wouldn't you be upset? Wouldn't you care at all? Would you sit and take it as your country judged you? As people like you sat and judged a closed book?
Is that fair? Life's not fair, but there sure as hell ain't no reason to complicate it.

imagine the world different... For example. Society is gay and not straight. If you were brought up thinking that men should be with men and women with women.. Yet u like women.. U love the soft skin, the small hands, the breasts, the way they smell like fruits and lotions and all that wonderful stuff that makes them women.. Yet everyone is bothering u and getting in ur personal life telling u that u are wrong.. U are going to hell.. How is it that what goes on between two consenting adults is anyone Else's business?.... If we could change and not have to go through the everyday hell we all would have by now. Some of us stay in closets and never come out. Some of us lead double lives... Some of us are just tired of pretending and we decide to live for our happiness... " I'm GAY! I HAVE THE CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT TO LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS!!!!! NOTHING ABOUT U MAKES U BETTER THAN ME!!!!!!!

For one, nobody wants to hear that the life they lead is wrong and they'll burn in hell for it.
With the amount that homosexuals are persecuted, even killed, can you honestly says you don't understand why they are naturally defensive against heterosexuals who want to change them.
You find me straight people who are going to listen to any reason for why gay people think they should all like the same sex and I'll eat my words.
Also, how exactly are you not taking sides, but homophobic at the same time? That makes no sense.

because the fact that we do not choose to be gay and the insistence on the homophobes part that we choose to be gay, is based on their belief and not fact

Well when you start your misguided comments off with the bible says you are going to hell , You can see where that may put some people off , especially when God gives you no right to judge anyone for any reason .

i agree with you... i think.... constantly, i see/hear people bittching about how other cultures live their lives... the glbt community says we need to accept and tolerate, yet, the glbt community doesnt accept and tolerate the lifestyle/choices of the 'ignorant.' i wish we could all just shut up and live our own little lives...

I agree, heterosexuality has done much harm to many people. And you are right to consider that AIDS is more prevalent with people who live the heterosexual lifestyle.
It is true, as you stated, heterosexuals have depleted common sense in regards to marriage and procreation. I sleep better at night knowing that you fight for the rights of all.
