S. Africa lose remaining games, Windies win theirs, and it becomes about run rate between England and Windies, yes? What sort of scores would allow Windies run rate to see them through?

The scenario indicated by you is quite unlikely to happen. However, since cricket is a game of uncertainties if it happens, all the 3 teams will have 6 points each.

The present Net Run Rate for the 3 teams is as follows:

South Africa: - 0.2

England : 0.08

West Indies : - 1.21

Presently England have better run rate as compared to other 2 teams.

It is not at all possible to state at this point of time what score West Indies require to better their run rate as the Net Run Rate will not only depend upon the runs scored by them but also the runs conceded by them.

The Net Run rate of a team is calculated as follows:

Average runs scored per over minus average runs conceded per over.

Hence total number of runs scored by each teams will be divided by total number of overs fased by them in Super 8 stages. The total number of runs conceded by each team will be divided by total number of overs bowled in the super 8 and the average runs per over scored minus the average runs conceded per over will be the Net Run Rate

West Indies is out of the world cup. Only a miracle can get them into semi final. Australia, South africa, New zealand and Srilanka will most probably be the line up.
