I have a 93 Silverado 2 Wheel drive auto with a 350 v8 engine and was wondering how much you can tow with it.
Thanks Gary

All I can tell you is NEVER NEVER NEVER use O/D when towing ANYTHING with that truck. I know this from PERSONAL experience with my '92.

I even spent a fortune on "super strong high performance" transmissions without success.

Gary,
Is this a Silverado 1500, 2500, or ?
Depending on the transmission options, radiator, brake package and rear end it could be good from 6-9klbs.

If you have a local dealership with a good parts and service department, you can go in with your serial number and find out what it was specifically rated for.

I have a 1996 chev 1500 2wd. I tow a 22 foot travel trailer that weighs in at just under 5000 lbs. and also put an 800 lb atv in the back of the truck. Automatic trans. 5.7. NEVER in overdrive.

The question should not be how much you can pull but how much weight you can safely stop which depends on if you have a 1500, 2500 or 3500 series, check in side the drivers door jamb for a sticker which lists the GVRW.

Gary my son in law pulls a 4,500 boat plus the trailer with a half ton silverado. It has the trailering package. He's pulled over 12,000 miles with no break downsover a three year period.

which series is it? 1500? 2500? the 1500 was good for 2000lbs and the 2500 was good for almost 5000lb towing.
