For those who don't know: In Texas, you must have the official state license plate visible from both the front and rear of the vehicle.

If you're asking about your official state plate, any major car parts company (O'Reilly's, Pep Boys, etc.) should have the parts you need to mount your license plate. Some places will even install it for you.

Assuming you have a vanity plate that you want displayed on the front of your vehicle, you could either put inside your car in the front windshield or look into getting a double plate mount, but be SURE that you do not cover or leave off your official state plate. Some police officers, especially in the smaller Texas towns, often pull people over for no plate violations.

Most I've seen are mounted on the bumper. What do you mean by "painted"? They're all made of steel.
