I have a friend who is REALLY tall ( i think 5'9'' or something)
We always tell her she should be a model, but she just laughs it off or ignore us. Do you think she would make a good model? She uses a six or something like that.

Your friend is very pretty. Have you thought that maybe she laughs it off because she does not wish to be a model? It is ultimately up to her whether or not to become a model. I used to model and it can be fun, but there is also a lot of work and travel involved. It is not like playing dress up at all. However, I thought it wiser to go to school.

We teach girls such as your friend all the know how to have the confidence to be a model and other amazing things! Please, tell your friend to make the most of your stunning looks while shes young, and don't listen to these other answers they're so negative! Your friend would make it i can garantee! Modelling isn't like you see on top model, i'm sorry australia is so much more laid back. Your freind could be earning $300 an hour. Please if you want any more info for your friend contact me through my email and i'll send out the info - obligation free. :) jolsbaby22@hotmail.com. and check out the website - www.acopa.com.au. Yes, i really think she could.
Im also very tall and since i was like 12 everyone told me i should model, just like ur friend i just ignored what people said about that, even some model scouts told me to call their agency but i just didnt. Like one year ago I met a friend of my friend who owns a model agency, well we talked about it and finally i signed with him.
I dont regret about anything, it is so much fun, i made a lot of friends and i have learned so much stuff.
Well, it was just my story , but i hope ur friend can make it, of course if she really wants to, she could just doit for a few time to see if she likes it ,if not, whatever, its her choice.
=)

A size 6 is actually the LARGEST you could go as a model, and 5'9 isn't 'REALLY TALL" its actually average/short for a model. (most are 5'10 or 5'11).

Even the most perfect, modelesque girls struggle to become models, so its not just looks.

There are other avenues of being a model and sometime they are more fun a fulfilling like commercials and museums that know their agents hosting international artist to give demonstrations and sittings, where you won't have to be waitress, or waiter, and when you find a good couple of agents just fasten your seatbelt and hang on:)))

... don't get me wrong..she's very cute & pretty...

I think she does not have the unique look to make her stand out from rest of the packs... since the modelling industry moves so fast, and there is also the "look of the moment"... I would say she can do some local work.. but nothing "high fashion"...

if you want to know what is look of the moment in NYC modelling casting... check out the below blog:

http://www.coacd.blogspot.com/

just remember high fashion models are not "conventionally pretty"... but unique...

do you know how incredibly hard it is to be a model?? have you not seen america's next top model??? the stress, constant attention and critizism... being a spokesperson.. always traveling...

if your friends just laughs at this comment.. chances are she'll crack if she ever became a model

If she isn't interested in being one, then it doesn't matter. It's not for everyone and it's not that much fun. Very few models make the big money.
