Midsection (core). If you dont have a strong middle you will not be a very good hockey player, all the power is generated from the midsection. Strong legs are important but without a powerful back the legs wont help much. Any core exercise like crunchs, sit ups, running, any weightlifting that strengthens the back/stomach. Obviously you want to work on your overall strength and power if you are serious about being very good but a strong trunk is the key to not being injured or overpowered.

I'd say they're all important. But the core is especially important, you need to have great balance...the fastest legs in the world would be useless on ice if you can't control your centre of gravity. When you have a strong core, you can turn better, change directions quicker and avoid hits or decrease the impact of hits. Stability ball and resistance band excerises are good for this. Pylometrics help to improve explosive speed and balance...especially if you integrate the ball and bands off-ice. On-ice...you've probably been doing them since your very first season, so just continue.

Yeah. Legs and Arms.
Look at Raymond Bourque. Back in his playing days, he could skate and he had a booming shot. He was built all around. The complete package.

Legs, definately. The NHL today is based on speed and that is derived from leg strength, just look at Crosby.
The best way to improve it is running and leg presses.

Legs, however I consider aerobic is extra main than force, in step with se. But rather, running each and every part of your frame and adding aerobic is what you must be doing, irrespective of the game.

I think that the most imortant muscles are your legs for skating and arms for shooting and fighting.
