Because they confuse porn with reality. It's really very unhygienic to shave there, as the hair encourages air circulation, which keeps the skin dry and disease-free. But some guys are so hung up on porn that they will do any stupid thing if it makes them look like the fakes they see in porn films. Ugh. People need to start enjoying reality instead.
