So, I have to hand in a thesis tomorrow for a research paper. We can pick any topic and I'm thinking of writing about the rise and fall of 60's radicalism (involving things like The Weather Underground Organization, Counterculture, Nixon/Watergate, Vietnam) The thing is, I know this thesis has to be concise and specific, but i have so many topics I'd like to bring up that I can't seem to make it less broad. It's be great if anybody who knows about the 60's could help me decide on a few main topics, but even if you don't know anything about it, could you give me advice on how to make my thesis more specific? I don't want to end up with a thesis that will make me write a 50 pg paper.

Sweety...I don't think there is an issue from the 60s that is not broad. Like you, I would have a lot of difficulty narrowing it down...and you must. I have always wanted to do one on how our music reflected what was happening, lol. Well, you can see I use the Woodstock poster (which is one topic to reflect many events off).

Write down your choices...then narrow each one down to three or four segments...continue to do this until you have just one topic and the three or four segments and no more topics under them. Or..pick a pivotal year, such as 1968...Good luck.
