Their style has always been great come playoff time. But they aren't good enough anymore. Their goals for this year was equivalent to that of Philadelphia, St Louis and Phoenix. Yet half the western teams matched their goals against.
I think they will struggle into round 2 and then probably lose to a well rested Ottawa. If they struggle through a win against them, they would face a well rested Buffalo in the Eastern Final. But I don't think they will make it that far.
In the scenario from the guy above me, NJ can play Atlanta if the top 4 teams win, but they can never play NYR in round 2. If Buffalo lost NJ would play the Islanders, if Buffalo wins Buffalo would play NYR.

Just as good a shot as anyone. Best goalie in the world, very good defense, 2 solid scoring lines, and 2 of the best checkers in the NHL. How that isn't "good enough" (Juan you clearly don't know what you are talking about, the Devils got more points this year than any other year in their history and won their division, how is that "not good enough anymore?") is beyond me. They came close to taking Buffalo for the Eastern Conference title.
They beat Tampa 5-3 in their first game. Yeah 5 goals, that sure is "boring" and "trapping." People need to get a clue.

I think I'm the only one that thinks this but....I think the winner of the NJ/TB series will go to the Stanley cup. The spot just sets up too nicely. The winner will face ATL or NYR, and I think it's going to be ATL...both NJ and TB win the season series vs ATL (TB 5-2). I think Buffalo will go out 2nd round losing to Ottawa or Pitt (I said Pitt a couple days ago but after last nights game ???). Then I'm anticipating a TB Calgary type 7 game series vs BUF, OTT, or PIT in the conference final which either team will pull it out in game 7. Then Stanley cup vs DET or ANA 7 game series.
So yeah, IF they make it by the Lightning, I think they can win. But I'm a HUGE Lightning fan and the Lightning shooters have owned Brodeur. They'll lose 1st round.
TB vs NJ over last 5 seasons 13-4-1, only 4 loses to NJ in 5 seasons....wow.

I doubt it. i don't think of any eastern convention crew has a "sturdy" probability of triumphing the cup. Boston has a respectable probability. i imagine they're going to triumph over Carolina. that could probably propose they're going to draw the winner of Pittsburgh/Philly(because the caps and habs in all probability are not coming lower back). And that would nicely be a very not problem-free sequence. i imagine they have a distant probability of dropping in the SC finals, respectable probability they bypass out in the convention finals, and 50/50 probability they lose in the second one round antagonistic to the pens or flyers..

I dont think they will..but they do have a chance..Their forwards need to get hot..because they can count on Brodeur making saves but they got to be able to score as well. I think they have a hard first round in Tampa (especially if Tampa's goalies actually show up) just because they have solid forwards that can score..
